Position Summary:
The Warehouse Operations Supervisor will provide operational leadership to individual contributors, and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including loading/unloading of trailers, cross docking and picking/selection of product and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervise approximately 15-25 hourly associates. Also, supervises most processes directly including workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for taking effective and consistent corrective action when necessary and making disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Review overall and individual production goals. Monitor product throughput daily.

Day and Night Shifts available.

The day shift position will primarily oversee a Shipping team.
The night shift position will primarily oversee a Receiving team.

Major Responsibilities:
-Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable through daily meetings with team.
-Apply effective communication and motivational techniques in supervising and counseling subordinates.
-Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and provide counseling and/or recognition to associates as needed.

- Supervise and coordinate the most efficient loading of outbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of quality.
-Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of warehouse operations.
-Establish objectives, plans, and schedules and ensure that resources are available for completion of established operational assignments
- Achieve daily productivity and resource efficiency goals by tracking specific metrics, including workflow and labor costs for production teams .
-Assist in new associate training.
-Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shift.
-Have a thorough working knowledge of the site's operating systems in order to ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolution.
-Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
-Assure staffing levels in accordance with production goals.
-Responsible for cross communication between shifts.
-Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

-Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures such as inventory accuracy and control, returns, damages, etc. Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability. Closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets.

-Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are in compliance with the location safety strategy. Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance. Thoroughly investigate and report all safety accidents and violations in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies including OSHA and MSDS standards and company policies and procedures.

Growth / Customer Experience:
-Understand the location-specific customer goals, KPIs & objectives. Ensure the customer knows that we are committed to helping them meet their objectives. Determine areas that could benefit from Continuous Improvement efforts.

-Properly plan work assignments to ensure effectives use of warehouse equipment. Work with hourly associates to ensure they understand safe and efficient operation of equipment.

-5 years related functional experience
-High School Diploma required
-Bachelor's Degree preferred
-Expert knowledge of material handling equipment required.
-Advanced skills with warehouse management systems required.
-Previous supervisory or management experience required.
- Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required
-Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening
