The Warehouse Operator:
  • Performs a variety of duties to receive, distribute, assemble, store, and ship raw materials, intermediate products, finished goods, and other supplies in warehouses, vaults or other locations
  • Works under minimal supervision and according to prescribed procedures as directed
  • Performs materials receipt, disbursement and related activities as directed
  • Performs  various warehouse in addition to handling and supplying approved material for production use
  • Utilizes SAP and ARIBA for Raw Materials, Finished Goods, and other items
  • Updates delivery schedules as required
  • Coordinates with appropriate shipping companies; completes required documentation and ensures shipment in accordance with regulatory and company guidelines
  • Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and conveys materials and items to designated areas
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping area
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers and marks materials with identifying information and records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
  • Samples, labels, and properly stores raw materials when received in the warehouse
  • Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment; Delivers received packages across entire site
  • Maintains inventory of raw materials, Performs cycle counts using SAP
  • Assists others in filling out MSO for miscellaneous shipping items from the warehouse 
  • Performs daily tank farm readings and provides data for supervisor to order
  • Samples, loads and unloads hazardous waste and solvent tankers according to standard operating procedures
  • Submits maintenance work orders as needed
  • Performs weekly completion of KANBAN checklist and order materials as required
  • Delivers raw materials to Chemistry Service to support their work as requested
  • Monitors all temperature chart recorders daily per procedures
  • Reviews and red-lines existing procedures, instructions, and batch logs within the assigned area to ensure accuracy and recommend modifications
  • Performs area safety inspections to identify safety hazards and report findings in accordance with company protocols
  • Demonstrates adherence to safety procedures by monitoring personal and peer behaviors, work environment and housekeeping
  • Continuously looks for ways to simplify or improve products, services, systems, and processes to achieve business goals (e.g., improve yield, cycle time, quality, productivity, etc.)
  • Continuously learns new skills, procedures and processes
  • Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including GMP, FDA, EPA, OSHA, RCRA and DEA
  • Complies with all company and site policies and procedures
  • Assumes responsibility for the environmental effects of work performed and for the identification and recording of environmental problems as they arise
  • Follows all applicable aspects of the site Environmental Management System as it pertains to normal job duties
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements
  • Understands and responsibly performs duties with attention to quality, safety and environmental matters including: wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, recognizing, reporting and appropriately responding to hazards in the work area (spills/accidents/near misses), maintaining proper housekeeping at all times, properly labeling and storing chemicals, plus all other relevant job requirements
  • Participates on investigative teams and site group initiatives (e.g. PHAs, PSC, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned which include housekeeping, checking eyewash stations, daily forklift inspections, and other tasks as they arise

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience required
  • 2+ years of warehouse, distribution, shipping or material movement experience preferred
  • Previous experience using a forklift and various materials handling equipment, such as hoists, pallet jacks, etc. preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Will be required to gain company-specific forklift certification
  • Experience with hazardous chemical handling preferred (loading, unloading, sampling, documenting, etc.)
  • Experience working in a GMP environment preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency required
  • Experience using computerized inventory management systems (i.e. SAP) highly preferred
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policies and procedures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required   
  • Basic math skills required (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals) 
  • Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and have the ability to work under minimum supervision in a collaborative team environment
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this role which include:  standing, walking, sitting, using hands, climbing, stooping, bending, reaching with hands and arms, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting/pulling/pushing up to 50 lbs., lifting and/or moving more than 100 pounds with the use of a lifting device, working at heights  up to 30 feet
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision
  • While working in this job the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions that may include hot or cold
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed
