IBM Watson Health is looking for people with proven Continuous Integration/Delivery skills and experience with software development in an Agile/SCRUM environment. Incremental, frequent delivery and deployment is an important part of our engineering team's ability to deliver quality software. As a Continuous Delivery (CD) Engineer, the candidate will be a key team member, responsible for the Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Continuous Delivery, Configuration Management, and Data Management models for our Software as a Services (SaaS) based deployments. Essential Functions:
  • Understand the technical and process aspects of the continuous delivery needs of the organization
  • Work with the tech organization at large to understand its Continuous Delivery needs and be able to transform that into product requirements
  • Understand, improve and optimize the Continuous Delivery process
  • Mentor and lead junior developers in Continuous Delivery concepts
  • Be comfortable learning, designing and coding in multiple languages and integrating multiple tools through their Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Command Line Interfaces, etc
  • Design, code and test systems with a long-term mindset of maintainability
  • Adhere to technical standards and participate in standards evolution
  • Support your own applications and demonstrate a sense of ownership for the production uptime and performance
  • Capable of aiding and triaging complex production incidents
  • Design and implement scalable build, test and deployment systems
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of continuous build/deployment systems
  • Work to continuously improve speed, efficiency and scalability of the build and test systems
  • Work across functions (development/testing, deployment, systems/infrastructure) and project teams to ensure continuous operation of build and test systems
  • Automate wherever feasible/practical
  • Proactively seek opportunities to implement improvements to internal team processes
  • Contribute to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the Agile project life-cycle and ability to act within an \"agile\" environment (i.e. user stories, iterative development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, etc.)
  • Review requirements and other technical documentation
  • Interact with stakeholders regarding functionality and planning
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Experience in Automated Testing (e.g. Cucumber, Selenium, Web services)
  • Proven knowledge of DevOps, and Continuous Integration/Delivery principles and tools (e.g. Jenkins, Bamboo)
  • Experience in Scripting Languages (e.g. Ruby, Python)
  • Proven knowledge of Source Control and Configuration Management principles and tools (e.g. SVN, Git)
  • Experience in Software and Web Application Development (e.g. Rails, Java, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Database Development (e.g. MySQL, HBase, Hadoop)
  • Proven understanding of Agile Software Development (e.g. SCRUM, Kanban)
  • Proven understanding of Release Management
  • Healthcare experience is desirable
