Vice President, Product Management

General Purpose

Responsible for developing innovative solutions, managing the development and direction of assigned product lines, and providing leadership and vision to Offering Management teams, stakeholders, and customers.  Develop a solution line vision and strategy, and translate this strategy into an execution plan with short, mid, and long-term deliverables and services.  Lead and drive the planning and oversee the execution of offering management strategies and implementation.

Essential Responsibilities:

    Build a strong product management and product marketing organization, focus the team around a common vision, and lead them in day to day execution.
    Source and shape priorities from across the organization to develop and maintain a product roadmap that delivers business results.
    Leads and owns the product management function from cradle to grave, defining and communicating product strategy, deployment, and roadmap through the product's lifecycle.
    Develop the long-term financial and operational models for each product initiative with other key stakeholders.  Manage the P&L and budget for respective area.
    Identify opportunities for improvement, and prioritize new features to sustain existing revenue or to meet growth targets.
    Lead, cultivate, and coach a team of product managers, both tactically and strategically, by providing short and long-term vision, guidance, and direction to deliver results.
    Manage, maintain and periodically update products, including platform diversity.
    Identify and take ownership of product line KPIs, with a focus on leadership, revenue generation, product sustainability, progressive vision, and adaptability to market dynamics
    Regularly conduct customer gap analyses, oversee customer advisory groups, advanced market assessments, and future/vision tracking exercises, to ensure that company is at the forefront of emerging technology and customer needs in the healthcare IT space.  Communicate findings and make strategic, visionary recommendations to key stakeholders and overall project management arena for development and execution.
    Provide overall overarching leadership guidance and vision; coach/mentor team to ensure product management team acts as product owners, has deep understanding of user workflow, and collaborates with cross-functional teams (user experience, software engineering, analytics Marketing, Content Development, etc.) to deliver on commitments.
    Provide product marketing leadership to ensure that all solutions taken to market achieve success relative to product line revenue commitments.
    Develop and deploy Agile and Lean best practices in product delivery process and act as senior level leader
    Develop and lead launch plans, market/competitive positioning, pricing and placement/distribution strategies. Post launch, monitor market response to commercialization and fine-tune strategy to achieve growth objectives.
    Lead efforts to identify cross-segment synergies for product lines (Provider, Payer, Government, Phytel, Explorys Watson Health) and ensure resources are leveraged appropriately

 
Position Requirements     

Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

    Ability to work in a matrix environment and communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
    High level of business maturity to represent the company in business partnerships and client discussions.
    Excellent management experience to scale a large product management team to drive results.
    Excellent written, verbal, and face to face communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
    Advanced experience working effectively with software engineering, product development, support, and implementation teams and ability to interface effectively with market- and customer-facing teams.
    Advanced leadership ability, teambuilding skills, people management skills, as well as ability to lead through influence.
    Innovation focus and experience; experience in and able to inspire, manage change, and drive product management function for company.
    Familiarity with Agile/Scrum Project Management methodologies and ability to develop timelines, and speak to the strategies around the deployment.
    Advanced competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Example:  Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
    Ability to collaborate and influence others, resolve conflict and lead product delivery teams.
    Strong project management, organizational and management skills, including ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing initiatives with aggressive multi-project schedule.
    Strong understanding of lean/agile development methodologies (or equivalent software delivery methodology).
    Understanding of technology and its use in the healthcare market.
    Performance driven, detail and results oriented
    Ability to travel to customer and prospect sites, as well as trade shows.
