The Content Architect sits on the Brighthouse Financial Content Experience team, within the larger Experience Design team, which includes UX, development, and user research.  The Content Experience team works on projects for our major consumer-facing and financial advisor-facing platforms. We work closely with leadership, brand teams, sales, and product marketers as we create engaging, useful, and customer-focused content experiences for the next generation of financial services.  The content experience team encompasses content architecture, content marketing, analytics, and oversight of the Brighthouse Financial content library. You will be a key member of the newly expanded Content Experience team, fostering a culture of fun, creativity, and results for the next generation of financial services. As a part of our team, you’ll provide key content architecture deliverables that will impact all aspects of our platform’s content and user experience.

  • Develop a content architecture practice that communicates a shared understanding of how content should be structured, managed, published, and iterated upon.
  • Design the content architecture, structural hierarchy, and taxonomy for all new content initiatives and investments that best fits user needs and aligns with brand and content strategy. Influence the creation of new content capabilities.
  • Solicit and manage new content projects throughout the planning, creation, release, and retirement of content across our major web properties.
  • Work as the conduit between content partners and the experience design team, guiding partners through the content and experience design process including education on content best practices, listening to content partners’ needs, and creating insightful content architecture recommendations.
  • Develop & maintain content project calendar, soliciting relevant content from content owners, working closely with content team through delivery of content assets and implementation.
  • Create content guidelines and best practices document to establish consistency across digital platforms for content structure, calls to action, navigation, copy length, title length, wayfinding, and button copy, including insuring that our content adheres to all ADA compliance requirements.
  • Educate our content partners on digital content voice & tone. Evangelize brand standards and enable partners to learn and create content within standards; help to translate industry content into digital & user centered content.
  • Create copy deck systems and templates to standardize content and content creation across the organization with an emphasis on brand and content strategy consistency. Co-create these copy decks with project owners, acting as the editor between content creator and experience design team.
  • Listen, learn, and champion the needs of our users through analytics, user research, and conversations with content partners.
     

 

  • 3+ years in a digital marketing, experience design, content marketing, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Design or any other related field of expertise
  • Experience with content creation for web platforms
  • Understanding of web & mobile development process & systems, Agile development, prototyping, user experience design and visual design
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills
  • Experience with a content CMS, experience with Adobe AEM a plus
  • Experience with adobe sketch, adobe creative quite, vizio or related information architecture and design software
  • Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate vision, possibilities, and outcomes across all levels in the organization.
  • Strong conceptual thinking.

  • Ability to contribute ideas and execute the ideas of others quickly and competently
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Strong understanding of User Centered Design Processes and Methodologies.

  • Insurance or Financial Services industry experience including B2B and B2C.
