Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an experienced Welder to be based at the LaPorte,TX facility. This position is part of the Air Products traveling welding team who supports work at various plants throughout North America.

Job Duties:

Welding of piping and pressure vessels including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys. Welding processes include GTAW and SMAW. Certify to AP procedures per ASME code. Extensive travel to various plant locations Domestically and Internationally when welding services are needed.

Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years experience required in welding processes for GTAW & SMAW in carbon and stainless steels
  • Experience in GTAW & GMAW for aluminum a plus
  • Pipefitting and blueprint reading experience required
  • Mechanical ability and willingness to learn about rotating machinery
  • Ability to travel 70%-80% Domestically & Internationally - with short notice
  • Ability to work extended hours up to 12 hour days
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment and to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Able to certify to AP procedures per ASME code
  • Safe use of equipment and tools
  • Respect for APCI safety guidelines
  • Must be team player
  • Self starter
Students who have graduated from a technical school program with a background in Welding are encouraged to apply. Interested in students who have participated in Skills USA.
