Adecco Direct Placement is currently recruiting experienced candidates for a Direct Hire Welding Engineer job in Gettysburg, OH with one of our top clients. The Welding Engineer plans, designs, and supports manufacturing processes in industrial plant. Maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determine parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.

Position Responsibilities:

Create, implement, maintain and improve capable production processes, methods and sequences to achieve safety, quality, throughput and cost targets.
Develop and maintain production standards using work measurement techniques such as time/motion studies, work content studies, and line-balancing.
Analyze production costs to identify and implement improvement efforts.
Conduct make vs buy evaluations to identify cost reduction opportunities
Creates and maintains manufacturing documentation as required by the various operating procedures
Work with Production Associates and Manufacturing Supervisors to identify, prioritize, and quickly resolve potential safety and ergonomic risks in the manufacturing process to insure a safe work environment.
Creates new ISO compliant processes, procedures, and systems as corrective action or for continuous improvement.
Participate in Simultaneous Engineering to assure manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
Train others and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to implement change.


Bachelor Degree in Welding, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required
Minimum of 3-6 yrs experience in similar role and environment
Experience with Steel tube and sheet metal welding processes: Robotic, MIG, TIG and Resistance
Experience with Welding workcell development including equipment, tooling, material flow and automation
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
Progressive and proven experience with Lean principles and continuous improvement skills

Desired Skills:

Experience with Steel tube and sheet metal welding processes: Robotic, MIG, TIG and Resistance
Experience with Robotic Automation, PLC Programming and Integrated production systems
Knowledge of Steel Tube bending and forming
AutoCAD Software
Project management experience
Refrigeration experience
Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) knowledge

The salary for this position is based on experience and qualifications- 80k to 85k annually.
