POSITION SUMMARY:

Set up, operate, or tend welding, soldering, or brazing machines that weld, braze, solder, or heat treat metal products, components, or assemblies. Assemblies are as specified by work orders, diagrams, and templates. Change over, adjust and operate a variety of working machines, following prescribed operation sequence and using furnished tools. Check work for conformance to fairly liberal tolerances.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Operates a welding machine and other hydraulic systems (i.e. burst test).
- Correct problems by adjusting controls or by stopping machines and opening holding devices.
- Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure the machine is working properly.
- Washes the subcomponents in the vapor degreaser with the appropriate PPE.
- Sets up fixtures and appropriate pressure settings according to specifications on process sheet.
- Documents daily test results.
- Interprets engineering drawings to position parts for proper assembly.
- Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips or other fasteners.
- Uses light bench equipment and a variety of hand and power tools.
- Installation into test fixtures using pneumatic or manual torque wrenches.
- Completes scrap tickets and reject information.
- Maintains, and adheres to all company ISO procedures.
- Performs duties in safe manner and adheres to company safety guidelines.
- Maintains a clean workplace.
- Performs basic maintenance procedures as required.
- Make suggestions for changes to operations to improve quality, reduce costs, and otherwise, enhance operations.
- Performs other duties, including temporary assignment to a higher or lower classification job as assigned by management.
- Accurately documents productivity, quality, delivery and 5S plus safety data daily.
- Participates in all department meetings.
