1. Looking for candidates with previous Windows 7 and preferably Windows 10 Deployment Experience. User state migration tool (USMT) will be used to transfer customer profile information from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
2. For customers who have not received Windows 10 training, the deployment technician will be responsible for walking them through their new OS, and assisting with login, confirming data was copied, reviewing changes, and answering common questions.
3. Familiarity with application package installation with Marimba is preferred, manual application install experience (if needed), and also computer installation.
The deployment technician is responsible for delivery, installation, and final configuration of the customer's machine. If the customer has not attended a training class, the deployer will be the person who provides the initial hands-on training of the new Windows 10 environment, demonstrating the changes and new functions, as well as answering questions. The experience they provide the customer will affect the customer's overall view of the Windows 10 migration.
Day to day responsibilities:
-Scheduling deployment times
-Coordinate with the customer to transfer profile information from the Windows 7 to the Windows 10 computer, via the User State Migration Tool (USMT)
-Delivery of equipment to the customer's office
-Installation of the computer, which may include changing existing equipment (docking stations, power supplies, video cables, etc.)
-Walk the customer through their initial login
-Confirm all data was copied during the migration
-Applications that require the customer to be logged in
-Assist with manual application installs (if needed)
-Review the changes to the environment and answer common questions
-Harvest the equipment and return it to stock, updating Asset Management for tracking purposes
-Update the ticket with any issues or observations made during the deployment before closing it
