TEKsystems is currently seeking a Software Systems Integrator to support one of their clients in Charleston, SC. This candidate will be supporting a locally based SPAWAR program and will be required to sit on site. The opportunity requires that candidates already possess a DoD Secret Clearance.
The program is responsible for providing laptops (Panasonic Toughbooks) that run sensor systems (infrared, motion detectors, etc.). This person will be building out systems on Panasonic Toughbooks that are then shipped out into the field (Afghanistan/Iraq) directly to our soldiers to help keep them alive and provide real time up to date intel. The candidate will be working in a lab environment testing, creating, and deploying images on a daily basis. The candidate will then add the patch to the base-line image and test the image in a lab environment here in Charleston. The candidate will then pass the new baseline image off to another team responsible for deploying the new image once it has been updated and deemed functional and battle ready. The American war fighter will be at risk if they are not equipped with the most up to date software to detect enemy movement.
The Software Systems Integrator will be a part of the design, integration, and maintenance of Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government-off-the-Shelf (GOTS) software and systems. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of DoD policies, Technology Analysis and Assessments, Systems Analysis and Architecture, and Test & Evaluation Criteria. The ideal candidate must be able to develop data flow diagrams, conduct software and systems capabilities analysis, and software and systems design and integration. The candidate will also participate in in multiple domains including, but not limited to:
o Software and Systems Development and Management
o Independent Verification and Validation Services
o Configuration Management and Baseline Deployment
Roles and Responsibilities:
Candidates should have recent hands on experience with the following:
* Perform function of a Software and Systems Integrator for application and systems utilizing ImageX and/or SPAWAR Windows Image Manager (SWIM) and/or Microsoft Windows Imaging Application Programming Interface (WIMGAPI) in a Windows and Linux infrastructure environment.
* Work collaboratively within a team or as an individual on the assigned project to meet deadlines and deliverables.
* Adjust to varying development schedules as dictated by project stakeholders needs.
* Handle a variety of research and development tasks supporting software and system integration activities.
Candidates need to have hands on experience with the following:
* ImageX or SWIM or WIMGAPI or similar imaging tool
* Windows 7 OS Imaging
* Software Application Patching
* Software architecture design and documentation
* Integrating disparate software systems using open standards
* Microsoft and Linux Operating System
