As a Strategy Manager in our  Workplace Strategy organization, you can achieve results you never thought possible through diverse, creative, and innovative thinking focused on delivering the best workplace for our associates. In this exciting role you will be responsible for developing workplace strategies for clients that are driven by the client’s business and cultural objectives.  You will help the team deliver strategic workplace planning, pre-design services, high level programming, develop change management initiatives, business case development, and track design trends that impact space requirements. You will work with smart, talented people who will challenge you to excel and be rewarded for your passion and your achievements.

As a Workplace Strategy Manager, you will:

  • Manage and deliver specific activities within the design phase of a project. Typical tasks include space programming, diagramming, data analysis and visualization, conceptual design, working sessions and presentation to upper management
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of current and future space needs across a portfolio and complete understanding of the business direction and ever changing workplace needs
  • Measure work environment efficiency, effectiveness and expression that lead to identifying and developing opportunities for workplace improvement
  • Lead workshops, focus groups and presentations with outcomes focused on user research, design strategy, conceptual design and space programming for your client
  • Analyze different dimensions of the client organization; translate critical business/work processes into workplace models and infrastructure requirements
  • Meet with client leadership and other client representatives to determine wants and needs while providing strategic direction
  • Maintain an active awareness and understanding of global workplace trends, innovations and opportunities
  • Generate conceptual solutions that respond to client’s spatial requirements and needs
  • Evaluate current program as part of the design process while evaluating client’s existing layouts versus future layouts; evaluating current efficiencies and programs in order to successfully guide them to being more productive
  • Practice holistic thinking for the built environment that takes into consideration culture, social and organization behaviors, technology, amenities, services, and facilities
  • Build strong partnerships with enterprise Central Services teams and local regional teams, that support regional delivery of horizontal strategies
  • Travel up to 25%

  • Proven success integrating all workplace and design elements by understanding core client business and how workplace and design can support and enhance business performance
  • Strong project management skills with ability to juggle multiple logistical tasks
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior client leadership
  • A forward-thinking strategic mindset with the ability to understand and overcome tactical challenges

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Military experience

-At least 3 years of experience in workplace planning strategy at an architectural firm 

-At least 3 years of experience in design management, or at least 3 years of experience in interior design

-NCIDQ/CID Certified

-Proficient in AutoCAD, or Sketch Up, or 3D Studio Max, or Adobe InDesign

-Proficient in Microsoft Project, Visio, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

- 3 years of experience in ergonomics application, or 3 years of experience in research for the workplace

- 3 years of experience in Design Thinking application

- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited

- Certification in Design Thinking
