What You'll Do
• You will develop and manage programs related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, building controls and sustainability for implementation across Cisco's global real estate portfolio that:
o Increase operational efficiencies of the building, work environment and personnel
o Reduce energy and water consumption
o Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
o Reduce utility costs
o Increase Cisco's use of low-carbon and renewable energy
o Achieve Cisco's public corporate sustainability goals
• You will Help develop energy efficiency building, lab and data center design specifications and works with global delivery teams to implement
• You will help manage Cisco's global sustainability information system and processes; develops Cisco's annual GHG inventory, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report and response to CDP and DJSI
• You will help develop and manage Cisco's utility budget, energy procurement, utility bill management and accruals processes
• Solicits and shares best practices with business units, sales teams, Cisco partners, and third parties
• You are able to Work with minimal "hands-on" supervision
• You will receive management guidance on strategic direction and high level technical program management
• You will receive supervision for senior management messaging and funding process

Who You'll Work With
• Reports to the Global Energy Management and Sustainability (GEMS) Team Manager
• Works as either leader or team member in different program situations
• Interfaces with senior management and comparable peers within Workplace Resources and across a broad cross-functional organization
• Communicates in staff meetings and quarterly organizational business reviews
• Represents Cisco with external customers and other third parties
• Balances authoritative influence with less direct approaches
• Motivates others by demonstrating positive attitude during work efforts
• Influences business operational excellence thru collaboration and innovation
• Delivers solutions that are well integrated within own function and enterprise, which employ technologies, platforms, or services that are scalable across all functions

Who You Are
• Has a good understanding of all of the following areas and is considered an expert in at least two of these areas:
o Building controls and building management systems
o Mechanical and electrical building systems
o Lab and data center design
o Energy management
o Environmental sustainability
o GHG accounting and data management
o Environmental sustainability reporting
o Utility budgeting and accruals
o Utility bill management
o Energy and renewable energy procurement
• Understands business fundamentals including present value and creating value propositions
• Has significant experience in project management including budget, schedule, and contract management
• Communicates complex issues simply and concisely
• Typically requires an undergraduate degree in engineering, building science or physics
• Graduate coursework, MBA and/or certifications in project management desirable
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) or equivalent desirable
• Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience
• Works independently, with minimal guidance on complex situations
• Leads cross-functional and global teams or projects
• Develops roadmaps, timelines and budgets on large scale projects/programs
• Collaborates to ensure overall team alignment
• Executes to the defined business initiatives
